Barón de Ley Gran Reserva is a red wine from the D.O La Rioja produced by the Barón de Ley. It is made using only Tempranillo grapes.
The grapes used comes from the municipality of Cenicero. Vineyards are poor in organic minerals, which results in a high acidity and concentration in the fruit. The area is greatly affected by Atlantic climate, where it is not uncommon to see rainfall.
As any Gran Reserva, the wine undergoes a long ageing process. It spends 2 years in French and American oak barrels, followed by 3 more years of ageing in bottle, altogether spends 5 years for the whole process before releasing to the market.
